I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2008 with a degree in Elementary Education. I began teaching in the Wayne County School District in August 2008 in 7/8 grade English Language Arts. Since then, I have obtained my Master's degree in Elementary Education as well as my Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. In addition, in 2019, I added the Library Media Specialist endorsement to my license. 

My love for books and reading opened a door for me to become the Library Media Specialist for Buckatunna School in 2023. I am excited to help the students of Buckatunna School find books and resources that interest them. My hope is to place a spark in their minds that encourage a love of reading and growing through books.   

The 2023-24 school year will begin my 16th year in the Wayne County School District, my 13th year at Buckatunna School, and my 1st year as librarian.
