BES Library
BES Library
I am Christina (Nicky) Thompson! I am the Media Specialist at Buckatunna School. Although new to this position at BES this year, I am not new to this community or school. I worked here previously for 11 years as an inclusion teacher. This is my third year as a librarian with two of those years spent at another school in this district. Buckatunna is home for me, and I am thrilled to support our Buccaneers and spread the love of reading to them.

Operational Procedures
Hours of Operation
The Buckatunna School Library Media Center is open Monday-Friday from 7:00-3:15. Students have the opportunity to come to the library during times that are scheduled for their class as well as any open checkout times during the day.
By sustaining an open, flexible schedule and dedicated class time, students will increase reading comprehension and fluency by maintaining a passing score of 85% on library books read and as a whole strive to read 35,0000 books this year.
Scheduling Policy:
Each class will be scheduled for library skills, research, or class project once per week for 30 minutes. These times will be scheduled by the library media specialist and the classroom teacher.
Destiny Library Software
The library catalog is maintained on our Buckatunna School Destiny Portal Web page. Any student in 3rd grade through 8th grade is able to log in to his/her account at the library and see which books are checked out, place holds on books, and search for new titles.
Circulation Policies
